Dr Abdus Samad has been a member of Bangladesh Civil Service since 2012 and has varied experience of working on Research and Development. He received his education at Dhaka University, Jamia Millia Islamia University and Delhi University.

Dr Samad has worked at Linnaeus University, Sweden, and  at Oslo University, Norway, as a Visiting Research Fellow. He presently teaches Emergence of Bangladesh, International Law, World History and World Civilization at JnU, Brac University and North South University.

He has authored History of Bangladesh, 1905-2005 (Dhaka, 2014) and History of Liberation War of Bangladesh (Dhaka, 2019).  Dr Samad has also published more than 50 research articles on different facets of history and politics.
