Chandra Shekhar Shaha

Chandra Shekhar Shaha is a researcher and one of the pathfinders in modern crafting and textile design in Bangladesh. He began his professional career with Aarong in 1980 and served numerous national and international organisations as a freelance consultant for over three decades. Shaha is a former President, and presently a member of the Executive Committee of the National Crafts Council of Bangladesh. He is a Professor at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology and North South University. Shaha is considered an expert in curating craft exhibitions. He is the author of Behind the Product (2005), Traditional Motifs and 1000 Possibilities (2017), two of the most notable publications about crafts in Bangladesh. Shaha was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 and 2017 by Designer Forum Chittagong, and in 2009 by Annyadin and Bexi Fabrics.
